Topic of today is the *SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY**...*

To talk about the school of accountancy, we will have to start with COB-College of Business...

COB contains of 5 schools which are School of Accountancy (SOA), School of Business Management (SBM), School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB), School of Tecnology Management and Logistics (STML) and Islamic Business School (IBS).

School of Accountancy prides itself to be the 2nd largest accounting school in Malaysia. It also is one of the nation's oldest accounting schools, having been established along with UUM in 1980. SOA, with 130-strong faculty, is among the largest accounting school among Malaysian public universities.

Following the restructuring of COB in UUM, SOA was established in July 2011 and comprises two different departments, namely the Department of Financial Accounting and Taxation and Department of Audit and Accounting Information Systems. Students applying into its Bachelor of Accounting (Honors) and Bachelor of Accounting (Information Systems) programs have to go through a stringent process of selection and only the best ones are accepted. SOA also has a stellar and notable postgraduate division, with a considerable number of international students enrolling in its master (either by coursework or full research) and Ph.D. programs.

-To provide high quality learning for students, conduct and disseminate research and consultation, and positively contribute to the profession and the wider community.

Dean of the School of Accountancy

The dean of SOA is Prof. Dr. Kamil Md. Idris. Prof. Dr. Kamil Md. Idris obtained his PhD from Universiti Utara Malaysia as well. Besides being involved actively in various academic activities within the universities, Dr Kamil is also the Chief Examiner of the Malaysia Examination Council (Accounting), and member of the curriculum design of Malaysia Examination Council (Accounting). A prolific writer and researcher, Dr Kamil has several awards to his name, specifically for his writing and presentation skills. He is responsible for 2 undergraduate accounting degree programmes as well as the master’s and PhD programmes in the area of accounting and related disciplines.

Proudly to say that we were been went through the stringent selection process and had been selected to been one part of the SOA where Pei Wen, Swee Ching and Cheng Cheng are the students under the Bachelor of Accounting (Information Systems), Prabitha and Nur Sakinah are the students under the Bachelor of Accounting (Honors)..=D
